Peloponnese Peninsula - Top 10 travel destinations in Greece

The Peloponnese Peninsula is among Greece’s well-loved travel spots. Olympia is one of the tourist sites that it is famous for. Travelers can see two temples’ remains and the stadium in which the first Olympic Games were held back in 776 BC. You can also visit the Museum of the Olympic Games that holds some fascinating memorabilia. The peninsula is also home to one of the greatest archaeological museums in this country. The Ancient Corinth is another wonderful tourist destination. You would see the ruins in this area like the exquisite Temple of Apollo made in the sixth century BC. This was erected on a hill that overlooks the remains of the Roman marketplace or what they call agora. There is also an archaeological museum here that has some valuable collections of pottery, mosaic floors and other works of art. A certain must-see site in the Peloponnese is Epidaurus. It houses the well-preserved ancient theater of Epidaurus that was created back in the third century BC that needs little restoration and can accommodate up to 14,000 people. To the theater’s north are the healing Sanctuary of Asklepios’ ruins and there is a museum that explains how the original temple complex would have appeared and functioned.
